Service Description: This data provides a basic overview of the sediments overlying the Floridan Aquifer System in Alachua County, Florida and illustrates three primary zones of relative aquifer confinement. These zones were derived and delineated based on the sediment types and thickness overlying the Floridan aquifer system as well as the geomorphology.This data is part of the Florida Geologic Survey Open Report File 21(1988) - Geologic Interpretation of the Aquifer Pollution Potential in Alachua County, Florida.
